Postby Andy » Sat May 15, 2010 8:06 am

I have a flyview wdm tv tuner card and im streaming live tv over a lan. The problem im having is that i cannot set the live server resolution higher than 320 * 240.
The tv card supports up 640 * 480. Why is this?

Because the driver does not provide higher resolutions to DirectShow.

TV resolution, again...

Postby Wolfgan » Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:43 am

Hi, I recently installed free UMS & ULS 7.5 for personal use at home (nice products BTW) and suffer the same problem, TV card (generic analog card based on Philips 713x chip) resolution is detected by ULS as 320x240 only, when dshow drivers report several resolutions (up to 720x576 according to Amcap's Video Capture Pin info, who uses the same dshow driver as ULS).

Any way to force higher resolution or produce a log to help you debug it out?
Thanks, Wolf.

Thanks. Extremelly generic TV card based on 7134 http://www.kworld-global.com/main/prod_in.aspx?mnuid=1248&modid=6&pcid=38&ifid=16&prodid=21. Let me know if there's any log that may help to find the issue.
Thanks again, Wolf.

Nope. Amcap does not enumerate media types offered by pin using IAMStreamConfig interface. It rather displays a dialog which is exposed by card's driver.
So it works via GUI selection of media type, while Live Server acquires media types programmatically from the pin using IAMStreamConfig.

Most modern cards (like ATI cards) have this identical: the pin offers the same via IAMStreamConfig interface, as via Dialog for manual selection.

Just bad driver and there is nothing we can do about it.

OK, thanks a lot for the explanation. Do you know of any Dshow utility that displays media types via using IAMStreamConfig interface? (ie DXdiag or so? I may try alternate drivers...)
Thanks, Wolf.

Try filter configurator by Trombettworks
http://www.trombettworks.com/directshow.php

You need to use it in GraphEdit app.
