Playlist functionality

Postby tommybcool » Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:36 am

Hello again Admin. Spent the morning getting live video stream from camera working with embedded player. Didn't use live subfolder (?), but still works after I realized the flash compatible codec needed to be applied to the live source. Very cool as usual. Why is the 'live' folder listed in the url of the sdk example? Just trying to understand the architecture.

Is there something in the flash SDK for playback of file playlist like the standard media player does? I guess I'm missing it.
In Media server I notice the live source properties have the flash player option, but the file resources do not have that option. Does that mean the embedded flash player is only for live sources?

Yes, the Flash player is for live sources only.

What is the advantage of using flash over conventional streaming we did before the flash functionality?

The only advantage is - users don't need to install anything;
also it works on any OS.
