Video Codec Not Supported

Postby cj7855 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 11:08 am

I've been using my Quickcam with the Media Server over http with no problem. I tried going to the Flash player and I'm getting a "Video Codec not supported by Flash" error when I pull up the web page.

Is there a resolution to this?

Thanks,

Curt

You need to encode with h.264 codec

We're having the same problem. We're using the IPCamsource filter , and don't have an option to encode using h.264 when setting up the live source, only MJPG is available. Is this a limitation of the filter, or do I simply need an h.264 codec installed on the ULive server?

Soon after posting my question I found the setting in the Live Server / Live Source Setup, a setting for Flash Compatable Encoding. That did the trick I needed. Works beautifully!

Now I can watch my dogs on cam using my Nook Color rooted with Android Gingerbread while away from the house. I LOVE IT!!!

I've been using Unreal Media Server for years. Thanks for such a useful product. It's great!
