Problems with Archival Server

Archive doesn't active automatically afterservice restarting

Postby frankchen » Wed May 11, 2016 2:26 am

Hi there,
We found Archive doesn't active automatically after service restarting. Is that correct?

How could we do if we want all of those archives which we've set can active automatically after Archive Service restart?
It seems not working via Media Server SDK sending a start command, because no one knows when Archive Service will be restarted.

Any suggestion for this will be appreciated!!

Normally, Archival server only restarts when you restart the computer.
But you could write a program that monitors when it restarts and then sends start archiving command.

Hi admin,
I don't think your suggestion is a good idea. And in a real world, nothing can say it could be normal all the time. So, a robust system should always think ahead to prevent anything unpredictable from happening, right?

I think Archive Server should be responsible for this by itself - "automatically active all of the archives when it starts".

Hope you can accept my recommendation and implement that as soon as possible.
