Archival Server - Javascript

Postby lfmm » Thu Apr 03, 2014 11:03 am

Dear Sir,

I am new to video streaming and programming, I have made a web page were the people can see the video distributed via Media Server (awsome!).
I need to automatically record the video. I got Archival Server installed and UArchivalCtrl.dll registered, I can start/stop recording using Archival Control.
I am stucked on how to create the "object " in html and use it in javascript (code bellow).

Thank you.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script language="javascript">>
function checkRec()
{
try
{
var ipnumber = '10.0.0.21';
var hresult = UMSRec.GetServerSourceStatuses(ipnumber);
alert(hresult);
}
catch(err)
{
txt="There was an error on this page.\n\n";
txt+="Error description: " + err.message + "\n\n";
txt+="Click OK to continue.\n\n";
alert(txt);
}
}
</script>
</head>

<OBJECT id=UMSRec name=UMSRec classid="clsid:42123BE0-7140-4223-AB3A-FB9F92521D52" viewastext></OBJECT>

<body onload="checkRec()"></body>
</html>

Hello, this is a question for web programming; I am not sure what kind of "object" you are trying to create in your webpage.

Generally, you need to create a web app for remote archiving; on the server side you call methods of UArchivalCtrl.dll and on the client side you have a button that starts/stops recording, and, preferably, AJAX for rerieving the statuses from the server. Our uVMS web app does this.
