Version 6: Configuration Files

Problems with Unreal Media Server

Version 6: Configuration Files

Postby admin » Mon Aug 31, 2009 6:24 pm

Beginning with version 6.0 of Unreal Media/Live Servers,
all configuration files are located in the following directories:

Windows XP: :\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Unreal Streaming Technologies
Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10: :\ProgramData\Unreal Streaming Technologies
Windows 2000: installation folder of Unreal Media/Live servers

To keep your older configuration, copy your older configuration files into these folders.

Versions 6 and higher will allow to keep configuration when uninstalling/upgrading versions.

Thanks Admin. Umedia is still a part of my daily life (since V3) thanks to your team's efforts. It hosts my live surveillance cams, my selection of video files, and most recently is feeding DirecTV broadcasts to my office computer so I don't miss sports while at work on Sunday. The quality I experienced in the DirecTV feed was exceptional. I expected some buffering, but it is perfect.

I hope you are working on Windows 7. All of the beta testers I've talked to are thrilled with 7 over Vista.
I still use grandfather Win2kPro. Just can't stand the XP task bar colors.

Hi,
I have media server 5.5 and Live server on the same machine. I'm upgrading media server to V6. Do I need to uninstall 5.5 first? How can I keep profiles - can I just copy them form 5.5 folders?
Thanks,

Nick

Yes, just copy config files from v5.5 to new v 6.0 folders.
