I am trying to open Unreal media server stream from vlc player and for some reason about 90% of the picture is distorted, you just see the upper 10%, why does that happen? how can i watch it in vlc?

You don't like that picture? Some abstract painters would be proud to paint something like that...

Now, seriously, you need to provide more details - what streaming protocol is used, is it tcp/udp, what is the stream encoding etc...
If this is mpeg2-ts over UDP, and there is a big UDP packet loss, then the picture will indeed look like that.

rtp over udp is used, the encoding is h264, i doubt it's packet loss, in the sdk player it looks fine, vlc on the other hand doesn't like it.

sdk player?
maybe you are using TCP in the sdk player.

Is it over LAN or internet?
It seems indeed as UDP packet loss.

Try playing via rtmp in VLC.

VLC still uses mpeg2-ts over RTP, while our player uses our own UMS protocol over RTP,
so it's not the same. Once again, try rtmp in VLC.
