Codec packs. Uninstall whatever you can. Then install Elecard package.
If it does not work, you will need to reinstall OS.
These codec packs never unistall cleanly.

Well, SVCD is square, in most cases.
Are you sure yours is 4:3?

| Look on the bright side. when you started the string you couldn't see a SVCD, now you can. So you are saying you can't normally view .wmv, mpeg2, mpeg4 and divx, that they are stretched vertically? And the others are normal. I've seen that before, but can't remember why. |

You need also to uninstall codec packs on your server machine.
Do NOT install Elecard package on the server machine, do it only on the player machine.
If you are running server and player on the same machine, open Elecard Components Manager and uncheck all the filters except the very top one (MPEG-2 decoder). Again, you only need one filter checked: MPEG-2 decoder

This problem also occur when I see by Stream media Player in the Media host!!! | SVCD is a 480x480 NTSC aspect ratio that DVD players and DVD software will automatically correct to a 640x480 ratio. WMP9 will also corrects for this I believe (that's why it looks normal to you assuming you are using WMP9+). Without this correction, the image will look tall and stretched in most media software.
My guess is that if you played the file with Umedia in full-screen it might look okay. |

|

Hi!
It seems I have the same problem; I have an MPEG2 file; on the server the file plays correctly with WindowsMediaPlayer. on the client the file plays correctly with WindowsMediaPlayer.
The test file is streamed correctly.
When I try to play the MPEG2 file I get:
"Direct show is unable not render this media"
But it is not true, because it plays perfectly in WindowsMediaPlayer.
On the server machine I installed also Tversity software and everything works fine with the same files.
Do you have any ideas?
Thank you!
Regards,
Camillo |
