Hello,
I'm using UScreenCapture in my app, and have gotten by all of my put_Region() issues (which were my fault).

The screen capture works well, and the quality of the .wmv file I'm creating is very good once I crank up the compression format properties (e.g. bitrate, quality, and seconds-per-keyframe properties). However, I seem to be dropping many frames (e.g. a 25-second capture results in a .wmv file that's only around 12 seconds long and has "pauses" that seem to correspond to the dropped frame data). I assume that this is because the .wmv compression can't keep up with the capture rate, but maybe I'm wrong.

I understand that screen capture can be very CPU intensive, especially in my case (1680x1050 pixels, 24bit color depth, 15 frames per second, 464000 bitrate, 1 second max between keyframes), even with my 2.0GHz Core Duo.

Has anyone else gotten good .wmv output with more conservative settings? In my case the screen dimensions and color depth are not negotiable, but the others probably are. Just looking for a "sweet spot".

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Dear MMC,

Of course your wmv compression can't keep up with the capture rate.
Just take loot at it: 1680x1050 pixels, 15 frames per second!

Just pay attention to your CPU while doing this, it's stable 100%.

To acheive such thing, you need twice more powerful computer than you have.
