|
|
| Trying to get the ULiveServer 5.x to perform recording. Everything seems to be set up correctly. Streams fine. ULiveServer inidcates the stream is being recorded. ULiveServer creates the subdirectory when it starts to record but no file is being generated... Any ideas?? |

Live source is a camera hooked up to an opsrey 210/220 card.
Encoding params: we have tried many. Currently it is set at around 300k, wmv, real time, capture uncompressed, applyl software compression, mp3 18kbps, 11025hz ...
The umedia ActiveX displays the stream great, the ULiveServer shows it is recording, but no files is created. Removed ULiveServer 4.x before installing 5.x... |

are you trying to initiate recording in ULiveSrcConfig.exe or via ManualRecording SDK component?
Did you try any other live source, like microphone or WebCam?
What version of Media Player do you have on your streaming machine? |

Tried both ways...

Yes...

We don't use and have not installed the Media Player on the streaming machine.
As a side note: We have tried the same configuration on three different PC's. So far we only have one PC which will not record. So am trying to find what was or is different on that one PC. For now am assuming it is probably a problem with our setup of that one machine... |

Some people on this forum call me evil. Yes I am, because I have to answer same questions 1000 times.
Live Server Config, Media Server Config and Streaming Media Player come with help files and have Help menu item; if you have problems, your first step should be reading these files. PEOPLE, DO IT.
Live Server Config help clearly says - Windows Media runtime is required for recording. The easiest way to get it is to install Windows Media Player.
Sorry for education.

OK - I think I read documentation pretty well.
"...What version of Media Player do you have on your streaming machine?"
BY that comment I was assuming you were referring to YOUR streaming media player - not WINDOWS media player. (Which we do have installed).
We have viewed news clips on WMP but can go back and check if anything has been corrupted on our installation since last using WMP. |
