|
|
I am using the IUArchivalCtrl interface to programatically start and stop recordings on our Media Server (rather than record locally on the Live Server).
I can get the Archival Server to manually start archiving and see the "Manual archiving in progress" message. However nothing is being recorded.
If I set up the Archival Server to schedule an archive by time then everything works OK.
Thought maybe in manual archiving the archival server wasn't honoring the storage settings however I cannot find anywhere on the disk where video is being recorded.
Any ideas? |

OK.. I got it working.. I had the local recording set to false assuming local recording would be on the live server? Not sure the use of local recording flag. Local to Media Server..? Local to Archive Server..??
Would it be possible to add another paramater to the ManualStart interface to include a file name with which to store the recording? |

What do you mean by "local recording"?
Archival server records on the machine where it is installed. It does not even have knowledge of Live Server. |

vbRecord (in) – if VARIANT_TRUE clip will be recorded on local machine
Wasn't sure if this meant that the archive would be stored on the UMedia Server or UMedia Archival machine (assuming they could be on different machines).
From what I now seem to understand the Archival Server must act like a viewing connection to UMedia Server. Essentially a client that records the video stream.
Is it possible for UMedia Server to record the stream itself? As that would save having to stream to Archival Server - thinking this would cut down on the resources being used on our UMedia Server... |
