Hey guys, new to the forum. We just dnloaded live server and media server and we have a little panasonic BL-C1A network camera that we are trying to stream through the media server. We are new at this, so could someone step us through what we have to do to get this working. So far, we have IIS running with the correct .dll file. Have the ip camera hooked up and working. I dnloaded the ipcam filter software from the website but I can't seem to find a initialization string for this camera. Is this what makes the camera stream to the media server? And after i try making a live source on the live server, I have to do a dynamic connection on the media server to get it to connect. Just really confused right now. I want to be able to type in the media server ip with the cameras alias and get the live stream of the camera. Anybody help us? Thanks.

Yes. You need to find the URL that delivers a still JPEG image from your Panasonic camera.
Then use readme.txt file that comes with IPCamSourceVideo to find out how Init String should look like.

You can do that with static live broadcast in Media Server Config program.

Well, we have found a URL that delivers the camera stream in real time. It works well in a browser. But when I put that into the init string it does not work.

If you do a static live broadcast, do you still have to do a live source on the live server and connect it to the media server? Or can you just do a static broadcast without putting the source into the live server? If you have to put the source into live server, you can't connect it to the media server through a static live broadcast. It won't allow you to enter a password under static so that the live server can connect to it. See how I'm confused? We want to see the camera in real-time streaming over the net. Thanks. If need be, I can call someone to help through this.

Everytime we try and static broadcast, it tells us it can't connect to the camera. Also, this camera does motionJpeg so the way I read the .txt file from IPSourcecam is that it doesn't work with mJpeg cameras. Wondering if this camera even works with media server. Anyway we could talk to someone and step us through this?

Dude,

I gave you all the inforamtion you needed.
Unreal Media Server comes with help files; we also have online documentation.
Moreover, the forum has answers to your questions, but sure, you wont read it.

Still JPEG image is not the same as MJPEG stream; your camera can supply a single still JPEG image, that's the URL that you need.

Hire some technical consultants, they will sure do it for you.
