I am trying to host the xpi on my site.. I downloaded the xpi from http://www.csystems.co.il/umediaplayer/download/umediaplayer5.xpi

When I host it,, it fails to install. Can someone tell me what I am doing incorrectly.. I know the address is correct, pointing to the xpi file on my server. It says not a valid installation package.. Thanks for the help..

As our website instructs (FAQ page),

please use the support page at
http://csystems.co.il/products/umediaplayer

with any xpi-related problems.

We got your email but our answer bounced due to your over-sensitive SPAM filter. Here is how it works:

In your web page you are probably using the UMediaPlayer5.js script.
You will need to copy this file to your website and change it as following:

Open it in your favorite editor, go to the bottom to the function called "InstallPlayer".

Locate a variable called "xpi" and change there the path to your own XPI.

For example, if your XPI is at: http://www.lonestar.com/bin/umediaplayer5.xpi then the "xpi" variable should be:

xpi = { "Unreal Media Player 5.0" : "http://www.lonestar.com/bin/umediaplayer5.xpi" };

Call me to +972-54-620-2440 if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Anton Bar,
C Systems.

You know, I've noticed it's a little tricky with Firefox. I think you have to add your site to Firefoxe's trusted sites for plugins. There is a bar at the top of Firefox that says Install plugin but I think when I click on it it says plugin can't be found (sorry I'm trying to recall). But then when I hit the Click Here link on the image window with control key down (popup blocker?) the prompt appeared to get permission to install the plugin. It didn't seem like it responded immediately, so be patient.
I rarely get the routine right the first time.
